Katherine Elizabeth Upton, a model from the United States, was born on June 10, 1992. Upton was born in St. Joseph, Michigan. She is the daughter of former Texas state tennis champion Shelley Upton and high school athletic director Jeff Upton. She is related to US Representative Fred Upton. Upton’s great-grandfather, Frederick Upton, was a co-founder of the Whirlpool Corporation, which produces and sells appliances.
In 1999, Upton and her family moved to Melbourne, Florida, where she enrolled at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. As a young rider, she competed at the national level and showed horses at the American Paint Horse Association (APHA). In the 13 and Under Western Riding, 13 and Under Horsemanship, and 14-18 Western Riding classes, she and her horse Roanie won three APHA Reserve World Championships. She currently has four reserve titles after adding the 13 and Under Reserve All-Around Championship (2nd place). Upton finished third overall on the APHA young Top Twenty as well.
She made her debut in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and appeared on 2012, 2013 and 2017 magazine covers. She also appeared on Vanity Fair’s 100th-anniversary cover. Upton has been in the films Tower Heist, The Other Woman, and The Layover (2017).
